AU MEME - Kalijah as Harry & Sally in When Harry met Sally

Because you want to accept my offer just as much as I want to accept yours.

Funny you’re the broken one
but I’m the only one who needed saving.
Cause when you never see the light
it’s hard to know which one of us is caving.

I know you care, I know it has always been there

I see it in the way you stare

You were just saving yourself when you hide it

‘Cause all my life I felt this way
But I could never find the words to say

Stay, stay.

Quick note! I wrote a drabble earlier and this is the continuation of that. :)

Grayson’s words weighed heavily on his mind; was he doing enough to provide for Katherine and their child?
Of course he was. He couldn’t let her father bother him.
And yet he was bothered. He shook his head, fixing the bedsheets for the thirtieth time since crawling into them earlier that evening. They remained in the Gilbert home that evening, and would fly back to New York in the morning. It would be the last time Katherine would see her family before the baby was born.
When she finally moved into the room, she offered him a smile and then begun changing. Her body had changed quite significantly through the short four months of her pregnancy and every day she looked beautiful.
She’d look even more beautiful in a white dress, walking down the aisle toward him.
When she crawled into bed, she curled into him. He kissed her forehead. “You’ve been down there a while.” He whispered softly.
“Elena and Stefan-” that was his name, he thought, tuning back into her speech. “Kept me awake; they were asking all kinds of questions. I have a feeling he was curious if you got the same kind of attention he did when he came into our family.”
Elijah looked down at her. “And what kind of attention was that?”
“They were high school sweethearts, got married in her junior year of college and had Allie within months of her graduating with her arts degree. Daddy never liked Stefan. Called him a fancy boy and continuously ridiculed him in front of Allie. Mama gave him a stern lecture after Cameron was born, though, and he hasn’t said much yet.”
“So in other words, I have a while before your father accepts me. If he does, that is.” He summarized and she giggled and nodded. “Would he perhaps warm up to me a bit more if I got you a ring?”
Katherine perched her chin on his chest and sighed. “‘Lijah, we already talked about this when we found out I was pregnant. I don’t need a ring. We live in the twenty first century. He should be glad I’m 26, not 16.”
“But-“
“No buts!” She interrupted him. “Now shut up and go to sleep. Baby needs her good night sleep.”
Elijah chuckled softly and wrapped his arm around her, placing it on her upper back. “Goodnight, my sweet. I love you.”
“And I, you.”
